Computerized Assessments

      Lois Milliken
In 1996, The Personality Adjustment Index behavioral assessment was developed to evaluate the need of further programming for clients. It is a computerized test that has been standardized specifically to the criminal justice field, so it accurately measures the degree of deviancy when analyzing the behavior of offenders.

It is administered to every WJS client during the intake process. The PAI has been validated through research by Steven Harrison, Ph.D., at the University of Utah Graduate School of Social Work. This assessment has been developed into two versions in order to accurately measure the behaviors and programming needs of both juveniles and adults.
